Family heirloom variety, originating in Germany, more precisely in the Black Forest region. Introduced in the Seed Savers Yearbook 1998. Original seed of Joe Bratka, a bit the "daddy" of the "Marizol" family.

Dark red/brown fruit with green collar, 150-250 grams, flattened beefsteak type with ribbed shoulders. Depression at the stem attachment moderately deep, wide and corky from which scars may appear in the talwegs.

Beefy flesh with good flavour. Not the best of the "Marizol" family.

Very good seasonal yield.
