Very little is known about this heirloom variety from the USA. The original name has been lost and it is named after the person from whom the seeds came, a certain "Joe" who grew it for many years.
Very large heart-shaped pink fruit weighing 500 grams to one kilo.
Firm beefy flesh with a fleshy texture, ideal for cutting. Excellent heirloom tomato flavour.
Large mid-season production.
Note that unlike the other heart-shaped and/or elongated varieties, this one does not have wispy, drooping foliage.
