A variety from Sweden that is said to have been sent to the USA by a collector, for some and for others a US heirloom variety. Featured in the Seed Savers Yearbook in 1996.
Synonyms: Ivory egg, Old ivory egg, Australian Yellow plum.
The fruit has the shape, size and colour of a hen's egg, initially white and then creamy when ripe, turning to a pinkish blush when very ripe. Clusters of 5 to 8 fruits weighing 30 to 50 grams. Faint depression at the stem attachment, umbilicus marked at one point, 6 sepals.
Firm flesh with a sweet fruity flavour and a hint of lemon acidity.
Very productive variety that thrives in a cool climate.
