A commercial variety from Russia, it is one of the three famous "bogatyrs" knights errant of Russian folklore. There is one tomato with each of their names: "Alesha Popovich" and "Dobrynya Nikitich" are the other two.

Fruit of a nice uniform orange, 250-400 grams, round and slightly flattened, discrete rippling at the top. Clusters of 5 to 6 fruits. Slight depression at the stem attachment.
Very good sweet flavour typical of yellows.
Large production and well adapted to cool summer and/or short season regions.
