An heirloom variety from Germany presented to the public by Glecker of Metamora, Ohio, a now-defunct company specializing in the research of rare varieties.
Large, dark-pink, 300 to 900-gram beefsteak-type fruit, round and noticeably flattened, with marked ribbing at the top. Deep, corky depression at stem attachment, trace of umbilicus in girdled depression.
Firm, dense pink flesh, very few seeds.
Remarkable, specific flavor found, according to Carolyn J Male, only in two other varieties: "Jeff Avis" and "Lillian's Yellow Heirloom".
Resistant plant with medium development, regular foliage, indeterminate growth.
Rather late, although producing from mid-season onwards, harvests are higher in the second half of the season.
