.Inheritance from Japan, widely used in traditional recipes, including "Japanese tempura".
Thin and elongated fruit 7 to 10 cm long with a wrinkled/tormented surface. Its apical end is often invaginated and looks like a lion's head, hence its name.
Ripens from emerald green to red.
About 10% of the fruits are spicy, mild heat +/-1000 SHU.
Crispy flesh with thin walls, is generally eaten green, when ripe the flavor is sweeter.
Bushy plant with a compact habit.
Excellent production. Pot culture possible.
