Old popular variety, already mentioned in 1940 in the catalogues of the time. Developed by Professor Yeager, Canada, from a cross between "Early Baltimore" and the variety developed from the cross between "John Baer" and "Del Monte". This variety has been used in many breeding programmes and is a parent of 'Manitoba' and 'Wisconcin 55'.
Synonyms: Red skin, Redskin, Rothaut, Long lige red skin.
Red fruit weighing 90 to 180 grams, round with a heart-shaped and/or oblong tendency. Clusters of 4 to 5 fruits.
Fleshy flesh with small pockets containing few or no seeds with excellent flavour.
Compact plant with little development to be cultivated in a cage to support the fruit clusters. Falling branches and wispy foliage. Determined management - do not prune!
Very good early season production, well adapted to cool/cold climates.
