An old and rare heirloom from the Champagne region of Rheims, where it was once grown in the marshes. An endangered variety that is being protected in its region of origin.
Large pink fruit weighing 250 to 500 grams, beefsteak type, more or less deeply ribbed on its upper 2/3 and with rippled shoulders. Wide, corky and deep depression at the stem attachment.
Dense and fleshy beefy flesh containing a lot of gel and seeds. Good flavour.
Large, even foliage, indeterminate growth.
Good second season production.
