A heirloom variety from the family of Oscar Gonthier of Drummondville, Canada. The story goes that Mr. Gonthier wanted to "invent" a tomato with the sweet taste of the "Ross" cherry tomato but with a large size. So for 12 years he planted in the same hole both varieties (Ross and a large tomato grown in his region of Pintendre and whose name has been lost) and what was to happen happened... He got what he was looking for and in 3 years he stabilized his creation. Presented at the Seed Savers Yearbook in 2000.
The fruit weighs 200-300 grams and varies in shape from flat to heart-shaped with a discreet ribbing. Dense, fleshy flesh with very few seeds. Good flavour, although slightly acidic.
Plant with determined growth and more or less vigorous vegetation depending on the climatic conditions of the region where it is grown.
Very good production in the second half of the season. This variety is considered to be on the verge of extinction and should therefore be cultivated without moderation to perpetuate the variety.
