Variety originating from the USA. It has a long heirloom in Barbara Fath's family. Her mother-in-law, Madeline Marlowe, grew it for over 50 years in West Virginia, then her daughter-in-law in Ohio for 30 years. Featured in the 1995 Seed Savers Yearbook.

Large, pink, beefsteak-like, flattened fruit, ribbed at top with rippled shoulders, weighing 250-500 grams. Medium depression at the stem attachment.

Very dense and fleshy beef flesh with a creamy texture. Excellent sweet and mild flavour.

Good production until frost.

There is a variety in circulation with regular foliage and purple fruit that does not conform, the real one is pink and has potato foliage.
