Heirloom variety from the family of Claude Brown, Pikeville, Kentucky. Introduced as "Brown's Yellow" in the 1987 Seed Savers Yearbook and reintroduced in 2010 as "Brown's Yellow Giant".

Large fruit of 300 to 900 grams, beefsteak type, flattened with a slight ribbing at the top and waving shoulders.
Orange color with pink blush on the shoulders. Strong depression at the peduncular attachment.
Orange flesh, firm and dense, fruity, sweet and mild flavor.
Productive and resistant variety.
